Just to let you know when the next cricket matches are:

The next match is going to be a special... we'll join forces with the surfing competition: Surfing Hainan Open, at Riyue Bay, a particularly nice piece of beach.

Saturday 3 December 2011.

The cricket club will make a bus available leaving Dolphin Bar at Dadonghai at 12:00 noon and will return at 8:00pm.

Then, it is the Christmas Cricket match...

Saturday 17 December 2011.

...in Sanya Bay.

We won't play cricket in November.

I'll send out an email early in the week before these match days with more details.

It would help the Cricket Club enormously if you could reply to me, letting me know if you would like to take the Cricket Club bus, or not, on Saturday 3 December, so we can order the right sized bus.

Apologies for the oceans of time since my last post. It has been a busy few weeks of moving house and childminding. We said goodbye to one set of grandparents at the end of a brief stay (four years), and received a visit from the other, British granny.

We now spend our days fighting (and losing) a war of attrition on the encroaching Lego, bricks, Thomas train, etc. in our living room, while we try to find a new Ayee who'll take us on.

So we're focusing on the light at the end of the tunnel, which for us will be cricket this Saturday afternoon in Sanya Bay (see previous post), and Halloween dinner at the Holiday Inn Yalong Bay on Monday October 31st, with beachfront barbecue, hotpot and free-flow beer.

We are told that there will be Halloween activities for the kids at the Holiday Inn from 5pm, so we will be heading over there late afternoon. But what costume to wear? The children are heavily into pirates, but we'd certainly stand out if we went dressed like this.
